Spirits Intent is proud to present the first line of bespoke, live-in trucks. The range of our vehicles is based, almost entirely, on various Mercedes Benz chassis types. The availability for parts and service is global, and the vehicles are very reliable.

We aim to concentrate on vehicles which are big enough to live in all year round, so most of our range is based on larger vehicles (more than 3.5 tons) and would require a 7.5 ton driving licence, although we are open to designing a bespoke 3.5 ton (large van size) if there is a call for that.

The smallest model (we are talking engine size and weight capacities rather than size) is based on a 6 - 7.5 ton chassis type. Here is the Merceded 609d, 709d and finally the 814d, all of which are 2x4 large vans. Our preference is to equip these with a box body becomes, in turn, the home unit, although there is a possibility with these chassis sizes, for the truck to be in panel van form.  This can, however limit the inside space, and in some situations the ground clearance.

The next size up is a 7.5 ton truck or bigger. These are the Mercedes 814 series and its bigger brothers and sisters. In this category our preference is for 4x4, 6x4 or even 6x6 chassis. This usually means that the overall length of the truck is reduced but off road capabilities are being taken through a paradigm shift, so in this category the issues are size verses passibility. The biggest can be a 30 ft box body on an 18 ton truck, we do not recommend to go for heavier.


The

final category is reserved for top of the range off-road capabilities. In this category we have the Mercedes Unimog.. The Unimog can be of any chassis size but we prefer the long wheel base (1300L for example) as anything else would be very limited on space. These are only suitable for a couple at most because of size, and only really recommended for cases which exclude the beaten track; the small living space and the higher fuel consumption does not justify it. A much bigger truck will perform just the same, and sometimes better on the tarmac, but off the road there is very little that can compare to the Unimog.

We are getting excited about new possibilities with the Mercedes Zetros, released last year, as a new army truck series.

All of our trucks are made to order, and we do not have any in stock at present.
